Head Chef

Our first restaurant, Tollbua, was one of the most successful restaurant openings in Trondheim’s history. Do you have the ambition, passion, and skill to lead our next team in pursuit of more success?

The new concept will be a gastropub located right in the heart of Trondheim. The details and location of the concept are a closely-guarded secret, but will soon to be revealed. Opening is planned for November 2024. You can look forward to a year-round destination, packed to the rafters with hungry diners, thirsty drinkers and smiling customers from all walks of life.

We are building a leader team which has the experience to manage this fast-paced, exciting workplace, while maintaining the quality of food, drink and service which is expected of a Mati concept.

The Head Chef will be influential in developing and delivering an original menu for the food concept. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced chef, who has the ambition to take classic dishes and comfort food, and turn them into something spectacular.

Typical tasks include:

  • Daily operation of the kitchen; goods ordering, calculations and IK-Mat.
  • Personnel work with responsibility for hiring, training and roster etc.
  • Development and follow-up of the menu, concept and guest experience.
  • Financial responsibility with stock management, cost of goods and inventory etc.
  • Recruitment, guidance and follow-up of apprentices and training.

Desired qualifications and characteristics:

  • Relevant experience from similar positions
  • Great capacity for work
  • Great commitment to the subject and guest experiences
  • Interest in finance and operations
  • Experience with personnel management and roster systems
  • Flexible and solution-oriented
  • Lean forward and energetic
  • Good interpersonal skills
